Print Magazine

Speculative Future began as a digital magazine — but the vision has always extended beyond the screen.

We believe print still matters. Print doesn’t track your scroll time, judge your interests, or whisper performance stats in your ear. It just… lets you read.

Our hope is to create slow editions — timeless collections of essays, thought pieces, and visual futures — designed to be kept, revisited, and savoured.

We’re not interested in glossy churn or disposable newsstand fare. Our vision for print is something closer to the great speculative magazines of the 1950s and ’60s — when science, technology, and even science fiction were presented with a sense of optimism and wonder, not doomscroll urgency.

For me, the feeling is personal. As a kid, I’d save up to buy Dreamwatch each month from the newsagent — take it home, flip through the artwork, the exclusives, the behind-the-scenes pieces, and read it slowly, almost ritualistically. It wasn’t just content; it was a moment of immersion.

That’s the atmosphere we want to bring back with Speculative Future in print. Not breaking news or hot takes, but a slower rhythm: a magazine you look forward to arriving at your door, that you savour on a Sunday morning, take with you to your favourite coffee shop, or enjoy on a balcony or in the garden.

Not designed to spike dopamine — but to invite reflection.
